BIPO awarded “Global Service Provider” status

Shanghai, China – 25 July 2019.  BIPO was one of the proud recipients of the “Global Service Provider” title, awarded by the Shanghai Municipal Human Resources and Social Security Bureau and Jing’an District People’s Government.

Together with nine leading international players such as Heidrick & Struggles, FSG, Career International, Talent Spot International, Page Group, 51job, Randstad, CGP, and Manpower Group, BIPO was honoured with the award under a special program, initiated by the Jing’an District Government.

In a strategic move that will anchor Shanghai’s importance as a global service provider, this special program aims to cultivate HR enterprises in China, supporting their globalisation efforts while strengthening cooperation in the HR industry.

“In today’s competitive business landscape, HR is seen as a strategic partner, significantly contributing to, and driving business performance,” said Michael Chen, BIPO’s Chief Executive Officer. He added, “We are honoured to receive this recognition, and the opportunity to support the growth of the HR industry in China.”

With the award, BIPO will continue to focus its efforts on Research & Development.  Its existing R&D Centres in Singapore, Shanghai, Indonesia, and Malaysia cater to the increasingly sophisticated needs of its clients in the region.

BIPO recently launched “Workio” to support the local business community in China.  From on-boarding to off-boarding, Workio offers the convenience of a mobile app,  accessible 24/7. Through the Workio App, HR processes are streamlined, while routine HR transactions simplified, enabling businesses to scale up operations quickly and easily.

To accelerate the development and growth of China’s HR industry, Jing’an is the first district to build a national industrial park in the 4.3km² Suzhou Creek area.  A dedicated zone for the Financial sector, the west-end cluster, will be developed specifically for the HR industry.  There are plans to pilot an “open-door HR policy” in its Industrial Parks – this will be done by strengthening coordination with city-level authorities to solve “bottlenecks” in foreign exchange controls and the employment of international students.

The district also plans to develop international dialogue sessions, including a global leadership summit, and regularly issue industry reports to foster understanding of local and international labour issues.
